The exhibition BAD THOUGHTS presents a large-scale survey of the collection of the Amsterdam collectors Martijn and Jeannette Sanders, one the of the most important private collections in the Netherlands. Taken from a photo work by Gilbert & George, the title of the exhibition is a light-hearted comment on the adventure of private art collecting and on the interest in the darker side of the human psyche, evident in many of the works in the Sanders collection. The presentation is on view in the large lower-level gallery in the new wing, in a special architectural configuration designed by SO-IL architects (New York). The Sanders Collection is notable for featuring a significant group of ‘core artists’ whose work is represented in great depth, including Anselm Kiefer, Gilbert & George, Ger van Elk, Cindy Sherman and Anton Henning. - See more at: http://www.stedelijk.nl/en/exhibitions/bad-thoughts-collection-martijn-and-jeannette-sanders#sthash.URjfHofX.dpuf
