The Borghese Gallery will present about 45 of the most significant works of Cranach, from top European and American public collections - some for the first time outside of their home while ten woodcuts show the incredible virtuosity and inventiveness of Cranach in the graphic medium.
The Rome exhibition aims to tackle and in particular a further question still remained open, namely the relationship between the work of Italian Renaissance art and Cranach at the time.
