Saragossa to Bordeaux. From September 2013, the Pinacothèque de Paris invites the public to discover an exhibition devoted to the Spanish artist Goya.Born in 1746 in Saragossa, Francisco de Goya was a Spanish painter and engraver who worked in the royal court, but also produced portraits of the aristocracy. Becoming deaf in 1792, Goya painted dark scenes of life in Madrid and represented his demons in etchings. His best-known works today are undoubtedly La Maja Desnuda (in Madrid's Prado Museum), the painting of Charles IV and his family (1800) and The Third of May 1808, which depicts the Spanish resistance. Exiling himself to Bordeaux in 1824, the artist painted many portraits, ending his days in that city.
