The "Signs of Life museum" in Wels, Upper Austria, is a small private museum in an English country home style villa designed by Berlin architect H. Muthesius in 1916/18. The informative display spans from the first signs of human life in volcanic ashes to the high-tech stamping machines of the present day. The company museum looks back at stamp production with its historical workshop when each letter had to be individually set by hand. The stamping workshop is a paradise for children - visitors can experiment with motif stamps and stamping equipment to their heart's content. Our programme includes a special, interactive exhibiton for children once a year and different kinds of kids-workshops. Besides we offer readings twice a year with well-known austrian or german personalities.
